Arthur Brock

Arthur Brock, the son of James and Ann (Mullen) Brock, was born in Ireland. He came to the United States in 1827, residing first in New York, and then Pennsylvania. He married Sarah H Seaman in 1841 and they had one child, Cassius S Brock. Mrs Brock died in West Virginia in 1857.

Mr Brock then moved to Sulivan County, Missouri, where he was a schoolteacher. He moved to Milan, the county seat, and in 1865, married Susanah C Orr. Susanah C Orr was born 26 April 1831 in Mahoning County, Ohio. She died 1915 in Sullivan County, Missouri. Her parents were:

Arthur and Susanah had three children: L Winnie (Lane Winans), who lived in Green Castle, Missouri, Russell Holcomb, and Kate Susanah.

I have no further information on Winnie Brock or Russell Holcomb Brock.

Kate Susanah Brock was born December, 1869, at Owasco. She died 20 April 1961 in Ferndale, California.

Seaman Lodge Memorial paper clipping in Kate Brocks papers states he was the son of James and Ann (Mullen) Brock born in Ireland. Came to US in 1827 to NY PA.

Married Sarah H Seaman 1841, one child Cassius S. Brock. Mrs Brock died in WV in 1857.

Moved to Sullivan County MO, taught school. Moved to Milan, MO. Married Susan C. Orr in 1865, had a son(?) Winnie L. of Greencastle MO and dau Kate, then of Owasco MO. (this is Kate Brock who left many letters, jewerly and an initialled ring (ring now in possession C. Edstrom Moore(3).

Papers in possesion of Wm E Edstrom Sr (6) Included are several poems written by A. Brock.

I think he is Ellen Brock brother but it is unclear at present (CEM #3)
